Half braided hairstyles have ancient roots, dating back as far as we can remember. The hairstyle became a thing again in the 1990s and 2000s, and now, it's back.

This resurgence is due to many celebrities adapting to the look and the revival of the late 90s and early 2000s styles. I could recall seeing many people recreating Tyla’s half-braided hairstyle and that of Tems, the popular Nigerian singer, last year.
